Typographic Illustration

Specs:

1. 8 X 10 Print (Minimum Size)
2. 150ppi+ (300ppi for best quality)
3. Must include a Poem, Quote, Mantra etc.
4. Must incorporate a photo you've taken
5. Must include a scanned image
6. You must also turn in:

• Print of your project,
• your PSD (not flattened)
• a folder with the original images used before any work as performed on them.

Concept:

Select a quote, poem, mantra to illustrate. You may opt to come up with the words for your composition yourself. Then using those words as a theme develop a composition that seamlessly integrates your imagery and type into one unified thought. Give special attention to the type---it should be the 'star' of the composition, rather than an afterthought added at the end.

Grading:

You will be graded on:

1. Adhering to the assignment specs (folders, specs, naming convention)
2. Use of Photoshop Tools you've learned throughout the semester (variety of techniques)
3. Creativity (how engaging and communicative it is)
4. Typography
5. Organization (name all layers, delete unused layers, use groups for related elements)
6. Approach (non-destructive, preservation of editability, scalable etc.)
